Why do we have two laws; one that we cannot keep, and the other we don't want to keep? It wasn't that way in the beginning. That's because sin hadn't entered in the picture in the beginning. That came when the serpent caused the woman to doubt, by asking one simple question:
" ¹ Now the serpent was more subtil
then any beast of the field which
the LORD GOD had made. And he
said unto the woman, Yea, hath God
said yea shall not eat of every tree
of the garden?
"Genesis 3:1"
Thats all it took to cast doubt! In fact, he didn't even have to finish the question. He could have stopped with, " hath God said?" That would have been enough to do it.
If you know this story, you might be saying, now wait a minute! God gave the commandent to the man, not the woman. Therefore, was it really sin?
Lets examine that question. Just because the woman was the first to take a bite from the fruit of that tree, does not mean she didn't already have the commandent. First lets get this addressed. The sin was the man's. As the bible reads, he was right there and watched it all go down, and did nothing to stop it. But, we are looking at rather the woman had the same commandment that the man has.
1 " ²⁷ So God created man in His image,
in the image of God He created
He him; male and female created
He them.
Genesis 1:27"
1 " ²⁹ And God said, behold, I have given
you every herb-bearing seed, which
is upon the face of the earth, and
every tree, in the which is the fruit
of a tree yielding seed; to you it
shall be for meat.
³⁰ And to beast of the earth, and to
every fowl of the air, and to every
creepy thing that creepeth upon the
earth, wherein there is life. I have
given every green herb for meet:
And it was so.
Genesis 1:29-30
Chapter 2 of Genesis tells how God formed the man. It had not rained, so:
" ⁶ There went up a mist from the earth
and watered the whole face of
the ground.
⁷ And the LORD GOD formed man of the
dust of the ground, and breathed
into his his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:6-7
Three words in that last line, are a topic unto itself. Stay tuned, as you just might see a title of: "Man became a Living Soul."
Before we dive into this, I want to make it clear that this is not to transfer that very first sin from Adam to the woman, as he was the one who chose to:
" ¹⁷ And unto Adam He said, because
thou hast hearken unto the voice
of thy wife, and hast eaten of the
tree I commanded thee, saying,
Thou shalt not eat of it: ...
Genesis 3:17
The remainder of that verse is the consequence of Adam's failure to obey God, and continues though verse 18 and 19.
Now we will go back and look at why I believe the commandent was already in the woman, rather Adam told Har or not.
There is a pecking order to everything, and this was no exception!
1) God forms man, gives the breath
of life. Genesis 2:7
2) The LORD commanded the man
Genesis 2:16-17
3) God made the woman
Genesis 3:21-22
Adam got the commandent before the woman ever became flesh. She was still inside of him, when God gave Adam the commandment, meaning that she had it also.
Think of it like this. There are plenty of people in the world who identify as Athesit. The claim not to believe in any kind of a higher power, yet, they still know to do good. Rather they do it or not is a matter of personal choice. I do believe that the majority choose the good, and doesn't want praised for it either.
Why is that, if that knowledge isn't in them?
Question: If people who claim no belief in
a higher power, knows to do good
and does it, without seeking
the praise of men; why does
religion make it so complicated?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that all religion is bad. It's not. In many cases, it has to do with the man in the pulpit, and you can generally get a sense of the one's that are: a man after God's own heart", or if they've just chosen a career path. We have that discernment within us.
I recently started attending the church again up behind my house. It's a little different Not in a good or bad way. Just different then what I have grown accustomed to. That's all.
Last week's message, was more to what I am used to. In describing it to people, I say, "That it was fire!" Meaning, not only was it straight to the point; it was delivered with passion along with it. I shared it to Facebook, which I haven't done in a while, at least not from a local church. I'll share that link here, if you want to know what I'm rambling on about. Here's the link.
I really don't know how I got to what I started with, to where we are now. I suppose by asking a question. However, since I am here now, I want to address something I said above, about the church I started attending being a bit different then what I was accustomed to. You see, that last statement in bold, is all about me, and not the church, or the message either of them preach. They are both unified in the message. The style is a bit different, but the same message, and that should be the only thing that matters.
I don't know who out there believes what, or if they believe anything at all. That's not for me to know, or to judge. I feel led by the Spirit to do this, to do my part in helping anyone who is trying to understand, but are so weighed down by religion that they are almost afraid to believe anything, in the fear of what might happen once this life has ended.
Here's a little tip for you, if you are looking for a church, and find one. Give it a try. The one thing to look for Is, do they encourage bible study apart from the church. Your own private devotional time? I've heard that there are churches that Discourage it. That's not a place you want to attend. That's the warning sign to not be a part of it.
It is in your own personal bible reading that you are most likely will find things like this:
So the time has come that the house of David to loose 10 of the 12 tribes, as Solomon has turned to worship othe God's.
" ³⁰ And Ahijah (prophet) caught the
new garment that was on him,
and rent (tore) it in 12 pieces:
³¹ And he said to Jeroboam, Take
thee 10 pieces: For thus saith thr
LORD, The God of Isreal , Behold,
I will rend the kingdom out of the
hand of Solomon, and will give
ten tribes unto thee:
³² (But he shall have one tribe for
my servants David's sake, and for
Jerusalem's sake, the city which I
Have chosen out of all the tribes
of Isreal:)
³³ Because that they have forsaken
me, And have worshipped
Ashtoreth, the goddess of the
Zidonian, Chemosh, the God
of the Moabites, and Milcon the
god of the children of Ammon,
and have not walked in my ways,
to do that which is right in mine
own eye's, and to keep my statutes,
and my judgments, as did David
his father.
1 kings 11:30:33
I have included the above verse as a place to start, as the kingdom is getting ready to change hands. Today, we would call this a transfer of power. I would also encourage you to go back and find out where this particular story begins, and perhaps even what occured before then, to get a real clear picture. There are religious institutions that wouldn't do that.
Why? You ask. My take on it is, if you don't know how the story begins. What led up to that point, that text can be manipulated into whatever they want it to be. In order to achieve that though, the congregation can't know how it begins.
This post, that I thought was going to be short certainly did take an unexpected turn.
I will end this here, as we have not even gotten to Jeroboam's reign yet, still in the knowledge that he will be king over 10 of the 12 tribes, and who knows how long the next part will be.
I will link them as soon as there is something to link.
